Kenneth Mayfield, Esq.

Senior Attorney

Mr. Mayfield graduation from the University of Michigan Law School in 1973 with a Juris Doctorate Degree at the age of 22. He is a native of Okolona, Mississippi where he graduated from Fannie Carter High School with honors in 1968. After high school, he was an honor student at the University of Mississippi before he was suspended for peaceful civil rights demonstrations on the Ole Miss Campus in February 1970. After suspension, he transferred to Tougaloo College where he graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors in May 1971. Mr. Mayfield obtained his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School at the age of 22 and began practicing law in Tupelo, MS in 1974 at the age of 23.
Mr. Mayfield is now Senior Attorney in the Mayfield Law Firm where he manages the firm’s practice of Auto Accidents, Bankruptcies, Social Security Disability, and Workers Compensation Cases.

Catherine Umberger, Esq.


Catherine is originally from Foley, Alabama and earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) from Spring Hill College majoring in Political Science with a minor in Business Administration. She received her Doctor of Jurisprudence (J.D.) from The Mississippi College School of Law in Jackson, Mississippi in 2012. Catherine primarily works with clients to help them with a financial plan to either gain a fresh start or get back on track with their debts. Catherine has experience in both Chapter 13 and Chapter 7 bankruptcies, along with Social Security Disability cases. Catherine is admitted to practice in the United States Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit, Mississippi Supreme Court, and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi.

Dominique Mayfield, Esq.

Dominique Mayfield attended the University of Mississippi in 2009 where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science.She thenwent on to attend Western Michigan University – Thomas M. Cooley Law School, where she earned her Juris Doctorate. In 2012, Dominique was employed by Plummer Law Group, PC, a boutique transactional entertainment law firm in Sherman Oaks, California, where she served as an entertainment law clerk for five years. Dominiquehas relocated back to northern Mississippi and is serving as an Associate Attorney out of the firm’sSouthaven location overseeing cases in the Memphis, TN area concerning Chapter 7/Chapter 13 Bankruptcy as well as all of the firm’s Social Security/Disability cases.

C. Emanuel Smith


Emanuel was born in Natchez and graduated from Jackson State University. He received his JD in 1977 from Ole Miss.

He has been a member of the Bar in good standing since 1977. He has served as a member of the Mississippi Board of Bar Admissions, the organization that writes and grades Mississippi bar examination. He has also been a member of the Mississippi Bar Committee on Professional Responsibility, the organization that reviews client complaints regarding attorney misconduct.

Emanuel was in partnership with Kenneth Mayfield in the 80s and 90s. He also was previously Executive Director of North Mississippi Rural Legal Services. His experience includes work as an adjunct Professor at the University of Mississippi School of Law. Emanuel recently retired after nearly 20 years from the U. S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission where he worked supervising litigation in 17 states.

Emanuel is now in charge of litigation involving personal injury and workers compensation with the firm.

Eloise Mayfield

Firm Manager
Mrs. Mayfield graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education in 1980. She has been a paralegal with the Mayfield Law Firm since 1984. Mrs. Mayfield is responsible for the overall management of the firm, including consultation and interviews for all new clients. She has developed quite a reputation for understanding, caring, and serving the needs of all clients of the firm.

Janlyn Ledbetter

Janlyn is one of the auto accident paralegals at the Mayfield Law Firm where she has been employed for over 5 years. Janlyn is an exceptional paralegal who demonstrates professionalism and efficiency in her work. Janlyn, along with the entire auto accident staff, strives to ensure every client’s needs are fully met and that each case is properly managed.
Outside of the professional realm, Janlyn is an admirer of the arts with a special appreciation for performance poetry.

Faith Bowers

Faith Bowers is a native of Tupelo, MS but currently resides in Southaven, MS. She graduated from Southaven High School, received her Associates Degree in Business Administration from Northwest Mississippi Community College in 2009 and is currently senior at Belhaven University finishing up her Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Management. She has been a paralegal of the Mayfield Law Firm Southhaven location since December 2016.

Tabitha Foster

Tabitha Foster is a New Albany native. She graduated from New Albany High School in 2014. Tabitha furthered her education at Itawamba Community College where she received her Associates Degree in Paralegal Studies in 2016. Soon after she attended the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) where she received her Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice in 2018. She began her career here at Mayfield Law Firm in August of 2019 and now serves as a Paralegal with a focus on Chapter 7 bankruptcies.

Cortney McCown


Cortney McCown graduated from the University of Mississippi in December 2017 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. Cortney has two and a half years of bankruptcy experience. She began her career with Mayfield Law Firm in December 2019. She serves as a bankruptcy paralegal handling all Chapter 13 cases. She is dedicated to providing friendly yet professional service to all.

My name is Ursula Donegan. I went to Tupelo High School “Class of 1997”. I also went to ICC majoring in Office Systems Technology. I work at Mayfield Law Firm as an Administrative Assistant to Mr Mayfield and help others in areas where needed. I have been here for over a year and love what I do.

LaTisha Wright

Legal Assistant
Legal Assistant for the Southaven location, LaTisha was raised in Minnesota; joined the Army National Guard in 2011, and still enlisted. She is currently pursuing Legal Studies and Spanish with Ole Miss and Northwest 2+2 program. She assists in the Social Security and Bankruptcy department and has worked for the firm since November of 2019.

Natalie Midgett


Natalie graduated from Olive Branch High School with a 4.0 GPA and several college credit hours already earned. She is currently pursuing her degree in Nursing at Northwest Mississippi Community College. She began her career with Mayfield Law Firm in January 2020. Natalie is a passionate hard worker and is committed to serving you to the best of her ability.

Ryneisha Nicholson

Ryneisha Nicholson is a Coffeeville, MS native and currently resides in Tupelo. She graduated from Coffeeville High School and later from the University of Mississippi in 2010 where she obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Paralegal Studies and a Minor in English. She began her career at Mayfield Law Firm in March of 2020. Her passions are helping others and learning new things.
